- Very complex geometry and internal features
- Very fine details and smooth finish for display prototype
- Rubber-like or PP-like flexible material option
- Over-mould prototype
- Mechanical strength is not top priority*
- When budget is not a concern as material jetting is the most expensive option of all plastic 3D printing
*If both mechanical strength and finishing is important, consider using SLS with additional polishing and painting service
What’s the difference between MJP and PolyJet
MJP (Multijet Printing) is a proprietary technology of 3D Systems. This is an inkjet type of printing process where a print-head technology is used. PolyJet is a proprietary technology by Stratasys, its working is similar to that of MJP technology.
Both technologies have very similar specification in terms of accuracy. PolyJet usually offers a larger print size and more material selection. In addition, over-mould is possible on PolyJet with multiple material in one print.
